They're introducing new model lines, they want to increase their market share, and they're cutting staff?

Sounds like quality is about to take a big hit.

They're cutting these 8000 jobs to help pay for all the things they've had to fix on my E60.

I don't see the problem, the auto industry employment levels move up/down regularily. Sometimes less humans are required to run the more sophisticated machinery.

No biggie in my books.

All large companies have inefficiencies, especially European ones. This is juts normal leaning out of a BIG company

When Dr Reithofen came to power he ordered a thorough and comprehensive analysis on how things were made; processes, organisation, It systems. All were scrutinized. One of the things that came out of the analysis was the possiblity to cut some jobs. Sounds fine to me.
