I don't see the problem, the auto industry employment levels move up/down regularily. Sometimes less humans are required to run the more sophisticated machinery.

When Dr Reithofen came to power he ordered a thorough and comprehensive analysis on how things were made; processes, organisation, It systems. All were scrutinized. One of the things that came out of the analysis was the possiblity to cut some jobs. Sounds fine to me.
