FYI, saw this news story just hitting the tape, BMW to finally offer diesels in the US in 2008. No mention of models to be offered...

It's about time! I wonder what engines they will offer and at what price.

i dont know ther was a 745d... i thought there was a 735d... when did this engine come in to production?

I don't see a 735d but DO see a 745d.

No-one will get anything "revolutionary" unless there is a marketing imperative in this sector. Of course when the F10 is launched, the "rulebook" could be thrown away.

I dont understand what the big deal is about the diesel engines. I dont know to much about BMW diesel engines, is it because of the fuel economy, are do they perform better than there gasoline engine equals?
