Just read the latest UK Autocar they get 0 - 60mph in 6secs, 0 - 100mph 15secs, and top speed 157mph. The 530d auto is 7.3 and 19.4 respectively so looks like its hell of a lot quicker. Can't wait to pick it up!!

Hi "Merv the Derv", could you scan the article about the 535d for those of us who can't get a copy of Autocar.
Thanks

CAR also have a review of the 535D sport touring. Interesting comments in their last paragraph: -

"In short, the potent 535d Sport Touring can wear it's nine M division badges with pride. No other oil burning estate could pas itself off as an M5 Touring without inviting ridicule. It's the closest thing yet to that diesel sportscar. Dropping this twin-turbo six into an undeniably sporting bodystyle would demolish diesel's last taboo. So how about a 635d, BMW?"

I seem to recall us discussing that very prospect over a year ago.

It's guess work but that new block will make the 530d (218PS to 231PS) so it makes sense that it will make the 535d too! Continual product development... The 535d is great already

Colejl,

BM have got to upgrade the 530d's power figure because haven't Audi tried to make a fast diesel with 222bhp what is it an A6 or A38 some sort of road name. Regardless of the new 535 or any other car for that matter the 530d is still a fantastic car to drive and always will be. Mine seems to be getting faster with mileage. Its only the greed factor coming into play that I'm changing it for the 535.

Cheers

Merv

Merc have just released their new diesel, 3.0 V6 with 224bhp/510Nm so the competition is a little ahead. Correction, was ahead Can't wait to get a 535d but I'm keeping my 530d a little longer... <_< But the staggered 19" wheel option is tempting me
