Looking to trade in my wife's Land Rover Discovery and thought with all the great reviews of the new twin-turbo 3.5 engine that it might be worth holding out for this in an X5. I believe it's slated for 2008, but would be interested in any specific info anyone might have.

Isn't a 3.0L Twin Turbo?

I think the M Sport is launched in June for delivery July/August and then the 3.0sd is announced around November for launch from March 2008 production. The cost for the 3.0sd M Sport should be about ?5,500 (in the UK) more than the 3.0d SE (using the X3 pricing as a guide)

That's one expensive additional turbo!

Yeah - you're right as the X3 3.0d doesn't have an auto tranny. The X5 does, so I guess about ?4,500 additional. M Sport pack over SE trim costs about ?2k, extra turbo and spec enhancements account for the additional ?2,500. SHould be 0-60 in about 6.6 secs (0-62 7.2 secs) and 30 mpg.

Now, do I order one of those or a TDV8 Range Rover with a bit of DMS on it ?

Order the X5, bear in mind that the RR came out 2002, it's old...
