Would you trade your 550i straight up for the new M3?

Hell no I wouldn't trade my 550i for the e92 ///M3! When it comes down to it, it's STILL a 3 series compared to my luxo 5. It's not like I don't have the looks or power to back it up, I just love the extra space and luxury touch too much to give it up. The ///M3 from what I've been reading and watching looks like a very fun car to drive, but the 5 will always be one level up from the 3.

Another thing with the pricing between $55k-$60k, and dealer markups, I'd rather get an ///M5.

pinguhk - Try to make some sense in your posts please.

yet that right got to keep this forum alive and the best in the world, unlike some which for many years still have not many post or not over a 1000, haha.
e60 for famliy and M3 for street racing at weekends
I have 3 2nd cars right now.
any way if he can buy a 550i, which I cant. Then he must have some money cos in HK it cost over $112000 us
Is this even english??? What the hell are you talking about bro? And you have 3 "2nd cars" (whatever that means), but you can't afford a 550?? If my math serves me correctly, that would be 6 cars total. Maybe you should sell all 6 of them and you can get a 550.

My main love for the M3 is the new manual transmission and also wide selection of aftermarket modifications.
How do you love a new transmission that you have not even driven?
Aftermarket items will be months down the road after the car hits US shores.

Question: Why didn't you get the e46 ///M3 instead of the 550i in the first place if you're thinking about getting the new ///M3 now? I mean the new ///M3 won't be here until at least March of 08 and that's still quite some time from now, maybe you'll change your mind when the time comes, or maybe when you do test drive the car you don't like it. I don't know I'm just talking jibberish right now haha.

I bought my 550i used at a killer price a year ago. If I sell my car now, I might make a profit of 1-2k. Course I'd need to sell my mods separately too.

Would you guys consider a 550i to a M3 downgrading?

I actually got a chance to drive the new M3 at a BMW sponsored track event. I had to BEG them to death and bribe one of the BMW track guys to let me drive a lap when no one is looking. I didn't get a chance to open her up but the gearbox is one of the nicest I've felt in a long time.

Dude that's awesome! Does the car look the same as the ones that are all over the net? How did it feel? Details please!

bobr2001 - cmansbimmer is probably still just waking up and need his morning coffee, so he's a bit out of it right now, I'm sure he doesn't mean it.
