I'm thinking about it. I could trade in my 15k miles 550i fully loaded straight up for the new M3. Would you do it in my situation?
My car is a daily driver and mostly solo. I don't NEED the sedan, but it's nice to have it. My main love for the M3 is the new manual transmission and also wide selection of aftermarket modifications. |
If you trade will yoube comming out even or upside down? Also I got dibbs on your 167's if you do

I don't know how much m3's are going for OTD, but I'm guessing 55-60 OTD if I wait when the frenzy dies down. Selling it privately, I might be able to get more than that. Trading, I'm sure the dealer will make me absorb 1-2k. |
I would not trade the 550i
I would get M3 for a 2nd car. |

I would get M3 for a 2nd car. Mike - I would stick with the 550, only because I like the larger sedan. However, since you said you never have rear passengers and tend to be the solo person in the car most of the time, the M3 is not a bad choice. It's a really tough choice. Wait until firm pricing comes out and then make a decision. In the end, if the cost is an even trade, I might say to go with the M3. The car is insane. You can't go wrong. |
Guys it is not easy an E60 even an M5 is still more family car even if it kills some Ferraris, the E90 is more dynamic and more for fun.
Look you may change for the Emmy 3 as you do not need space in the back ( no wife no kids etc). But as the new M3 is so HOOOT and sexy you will meet someone and have a nice relation get married and when you have babies you will need a second car or get an E60   Joke mate! But think what you want, race or comfort, if more into race get M3, however if you get now M3 and you will miss the E60 for sure you can sell it at a nice price and still get an E60 again  post pix when you get it. (I would like to get an M3 once for fun&tracks). |

Hey Genius - Nice post. Let's say you don't have the money for both, the 550i and an M3. He's asking what would you choose, based on his situation? I love it how you tell him to get the M3 as a 2nd car, when you're driving a 525. Cracks me up. Let's tack this on to your list of 3000+ worthless posts.
