No kidding. I remember the price of Premium in Texas 10 years ago, I think it was something like 85 cents a gallon. In San Diego it was $1.48 or something like that. Now it's well over $2 here in Diego.

Individual is a special order program. If you go on the internation website, click on products, Individual is listed. They only offer this, from what I was told when I tried it, on M cars. You may have better luck than I did.

I called the dealer here in Texas the other day, and he told me that you could order a car with the Individual options in the US, but few do it. He said it is very cost prohibitive, and most people do not want to wait that long for their cars. They will buy whatever is on the lot, or a car that the dealer can trade for so they do not have to wait 2 months to build it. We Americans are an impatient lot.

Dear Mr. ____________:

Thank you for contacting BMW of North America, LLC. We appreciate your interest
in purchasing a BMW model. Regrettably, we do not have any information
available to us regarding the BMW Individual program as this is not a program
offered to the United States market. The only information we do have available
can be found on the international website www.bmw.com. If you are interested in
the possibility of placing a special order, we suggest you discuss the options
with the sales manager at your authorized BMW center. The sales manager can
contact internal regional sources to inquire about the specific choices and
model you select.

Should you need it, you will find a complete listing of authorized centers,
categorized by name, state or zip code, on our website at www.bmwusa.com. If
you have any further questions, please respond to this e-mail or contact the
Customer Relations and Services Department at 1-800-831-1117, Monday through
Friday from 9:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M., Eastern Standard Time.

Sincerely,
Jon Osborn

Representative

Ask your dealer. You can order individual options on 'M' cars. Specifically, my dealer has confirmed I can order BMW Individual options for my M5. They may not do it for non-M cars because it is a more disruptive step in the production process. The M cars are removed from the normal production line anyways, so it may be easier to fit individual to them.
