Sounds like 6 more hp than the Euro rating right? Might just be a difference in the exhaust or the airbox/filter/induction pipe combination.

I think European HP is different from US HP. Like M5 has 507hp as on Europe info, but 500hp on US info.

That's why I said 6 more than the Euro spec. The N52 (R6) has 258 in Europe vs. 255 in US. 258+6=264.

The UK Press release indicates it is actually a real improvement over the 5,6,7 3.0-litre
Taking BMW?s renowned attention-to-detail to the extreme, the 1 Series engineering team have exploited the 1 Series? exemplary air flow and cooling to extract even more performance out of the car at full throttle. As a result, the 130i now delivers 265hp, seven horsepower more than the 330i, 530i and 630i. Similarly, torque has also been uprated to 315Nm from 300Nm.

The reason why theres a power difference between the same us engines and euro engines is down to fuel. The gasoline u use in the us isnt quite as refined and not as many additives as the euro petrol. well thats what i heard.
yeah 130i should be a hell of a ride!

The 130i has 5Kw more because of a different air intake box and mostly to the shorter and less restrictive ( hence louder ) exhaust
The apparent reason for the less restrictive exhaust is because BMW says the 130i driver will be a more sporty type person who likes more noise
Otherwise its the exact same engine
