i saw this one like a week ago. i wonder if it's a real M or just a poser with the badge?

i noticed that on the pic of x6 the M badge is on the right.

anyways i think the x5m is probably the best car for the family man, crazy fast and can load bunch of stuff in it. good choice
That's a poser. Dr Jimmi needs to go see a shrink.

The M goes on the right side and both X5M and X6M have quad exhausts.

Anyway, C, keep the M5 and trade the X5 for an X5M. The Ultimate BMW garage (although adding an M6 convertible would be even better ).

With the X5M on the verge of being released (My dealer is taking deposits), I'm wondering if I would fulfill the pleasure I currently get, by owning the best of both worlds... Aside from one less car payment I would have each month, I've been wondering if I would still get the satisfaction of the "M" experience while still having a BMW "Truck".

My one concern would be two things...

1) Does Eloy have a kit ready for this car?

2) Would the "Pulleys" story work with the wife again?

3) Who wants my R10's? LOL!!!!

Wait, that's 3 things... Ah, nevermind. Hahahaha!

Glad to be back ladies. Now, let's bring this forum back to the way it used to be a couple of years ago.
I saw the X6 M when I was at a dealer for a test drive couple of weeks ago - I must say: IMPRESSIVE

And...

yeah, let's all go back to those careless times when Calton didn't have any kids (that he knew about ) and the meets didn't get bent outta shape over a little rain... actually, we can start this Saturday

C, I would think twice about the M-suv.

Not so great review of the X6M:

"X6M fails to impress like an M-car should on track, feeling unsettled under braking and struggling with understeer."

Good to have you back C - apparently you brought Gene and Mark with you. Go for the X5M, it's badass!!! If you are going to get rid of your rides then might as well get the best of both worlds

At my dealership, I saw a guy going out on a test drive in an X5-M the other day as well. It looked pretty sweet, even though I'm not an X5/SAV/SUV type of guy.

Glad to see you back C and good luck trying to figure out what to do about your new car dilemma. One thing's for sure, don't ask DrLev for any advice on what to buy -- you'll end up going crazy!

DONT DO IT YOU POSER!!!!! Sorry to all my pals that luv these SUVs, but those are not Ms PERIOD, they are for posing only, completely useless vehicles that mark a disheartening turning point in the history of ///M and not in a good way

...they will be a disaster no matter what the press states, I just hope they are revenue neutral and make back their investment, and learn never again to produce such useless vehicles as these 2 abominations. There will be NO \\\m feeling in these trucks that tip the scales in the 5000lb+ zone

Other than that, its good to see you back!!!!

My issue with the X5M and X6M is that they're not really SUV's insofar as they're simply incapable of anything other than on-road driving. This month's Car and Driver did a review of the X6M, and while it aced the road tests and turned in some very impressive results on pavement, they tried in on what looked like fairly light off road activity and it got stuck and had to be rescued. Some other high performance SUV's check all the boxes, they are good both on-road and off-road, and my sense is that it's much easier to produce vehicles like this when you ignore things that other manufacturers do build in to their high performance SUVs. What's more impressive, a 5000lb SUV that's stellar on road but can't handle even reasonably light off-road duties, or a 5000lb SUV that's also stellar on-road but remains capable when the going gets tough?
