but it was never available for sale AFAIK... the clk dtm sold

100 Coupes
100 Cabrios
also speaking of detuned how about this

V10 engine in m5
V10-2=V8 engine in m3

where did the cylinders go
Your starting to loose it man. WTF?!? We are talking about DIFFERENT ENGINES. The technology is the same, obviously...but you can't expect bmw to make a gold engine on the new m3 to say wooooow that's new stuff.
Are you kidding me?
For sure i'll never buy a merc, at least for 40 years or so, but even so wtttttttttttttf? If a merc owner asks you what car do you have....and you respond the clk 6.3 liters amg, you'll soon after that start explaining ohhhh you see it's a softend up engine then the one on the s klass, it has this and that less...but never the car that it could have been, and could have been deisgned. Also mercedes at this rate will go bunkers with displacement...just a few years ago 1-2 years if i'm not mistaken they introduced the 65 amg division over the 55 one. They just are pissing themselfs and do idiotic stuff to sell more or to keep the attention focused. You could still buy both the 55 amg and 65 amg at a time. It's like having the MM5. Soon they will go 7.0 amg and so on. They are starting to go the american way. Look honey i got myself a sl 85 amg...impressive huh?
Different setups, different displacement and so on...
No freakin comparison.

the engine of the m3 is basically the same as the e60 v10 engine with two cylinders taken off. Go read about it, and then comment

More of an expert that you. did i say the m3 is ALMOST as fast as the m5.. You are stupid.

The car WILL get a V8, which shares the same modular engine design of the V10 in the M5/6
Of course the m3 being a smaller car, the engine cycliners will be reduced

Of course it will have a engine derived from the m5. Some say it might even have more techno in it. But for sure it's not the same dispalcement in ccs or in cylinders. At least that. Well at merc it's not the same thing. And bealive me when i say it will be a difference. Some engine parts will be revised like the oil pump and cylinder heads...and who knows what more?! Until it's officially release we know only that. Some say it might even get some parts and set-ups from the m3 gtr. But it'sby far a detune...think it like this it doesn't have a predecesor. While the 63 amg engine has. IT's BY FAR A DETUNED ENGINE...i say it again. It's like saying the 520i is a detune from 523 from 525 from 530 from 540 from 545 from 550...yeah right! And i'm quite informed. Youre the one without arguments.

if you are reffering to this

According to the swedish magazine 'Bilsport' the upcoming v8 M3 will have a detuned to 400hp version of the 4.0L racing v8 of the M3 GTR. This engine is not supposed to be any heavier than the I6, perhaps even lighter? . This is not the same engine as the current M5 which is 4.9 litres.
its very old info. I dont really see how you substanciate your arguments anyway. In addition the only thing i have SAID is that it will be a v8 engine and should come straight from the v10 m5 part. As for modifications , i think its a no brainer, because at the very least the engine will need modification to fit the m3 engine bay

This is what our great forum is morphing into. DAS my dear good man you seriously need to do something about some of these forum "members". This is absolutely unacceptable.
