Why would they have it all taped up if no exterior changes? Just to screw with folks like me

I read in a Automobile article very recently that the TT is going away and going back to a single turbo to meet future CAFE requirements. Even though the TT is a great engine.

Yes all the car mags are reporting the impending replacement of the TT I6 with a twin scroll single turbo I6 producing the same bhp and torque and that the replacement is due to emissions regs. I have not heard anything similar with respect to the TT V8.

the X5 is taped up because this is the facelifted car.
it will be introduced in 2010.

yes, exactly - I'm not so sure what's so "early" about it - the E70 has been in production for a few years already, and the coming facelift has been discussed quite a lot in the forums:
