The wheelbase looks rather odd on that. Ironically I can see some Rolls-Royce overtones in the styling particularly in the amount of overhand over each of the wheels.

One thing I have learned with these new BMW designs is they DO NOT photograph well, you really need to see them in the flesh to appreciate them.

Mind you if it's 4 years away I'm sure there will be many more iterations before the final shape is revealed.

Oh yes, off course! But over the past couple of years their first pics of new models were pretty close to the real car, when it was unveiled...
So this pic is giving a first impression of the direction they go (at BMW) and the real deal will probably be close to this pic.

I think it looks pretty nice!

Anyone else see a little Audi A8 in it?

Yep.
The rear window is giving the car a coupe-like look.
And the trunk looks like the 6series. More round than before. It looks sporty from the rear.

I think it's a real beauty... Still, must agree that the wheebase looks "too" long for the car

I think that's coming from the rear window and the "coupe" line. If you put a piece of papaer or your hand over the windows and just look at the bottom, it looks like a 7 L version. But the rear window is so "flat" that the wheelbase looks longer than it actually is...

They did facelifted the current 7series and this facelift should come out soon... But rumours say, because their sales numbers increase, they won't bring it out anymore...
I guess we have to wait and see what happens. It is pretty obvious that they are allready working on the follow up model, so maybe they just add features to the curent 7er and don't facelift it... We'll see...
