My Ride: 530i 6 speed
Smile

Went to the Philly Auto Show today, excited to see an M3 and sit in the new 1 series.
Didn't happen. No M3 at all. Just a 1 series convertible, roped off.
And that strange looking X6, also roped off.
All they had to sit in and look at were an M5, a 550i, a 6 series, three 3 series, and X5 and an X3.
BMW was right next to Mercury, so they looked pretty good...
I should have saved myself the trip...

Well, at least you got the new X6. The San Francisco Auto was more lame than Philly's.

the lamest was the "Auto Expo" at jersey. there was the base-est x5, 3 series, 5 series and a x3. I was so disappointed. Come to think about it there was nothing notable at that car show except when my friend fell into a z06 and bumped his head trying to get in

Oh please. I went to the one in the Meadowlands 2 weeks ago. They had an X3, X5, 328 convertible, 335 sedan and a 528, woo hoo.

The X6 is an ugly car. It is neither fish nor fowl. If I were in the market for that type of vehicle, and I like BMW cars a lot, I would get the Porsche.

Wow. At least the BMW display at the Frankfurt auto show had several displays from Hamann and ACS.

Agree, at least I didn't have to pay for the tickets SA gave them to me.

I agree, the location is between run of the mill domestics and not a "premier" location. But it's been that way for years at the Philly show.

I see the X6 as a inconsequential model. Sort of matching up against other pricey not an SAV, not an SUV, not a touring, not a coupe/sedan ... yada yada yada offerings. Really more a hiked up 6 sedan. I guess for people wanting an expensive urban assault vehicle.

Agreed, it was disappointing not to see a BMW future model - though the NA rep set me try the 1 on for size. Maybe a BMWCCA card with a low number helps ?

That said, the show is interesting and BMWNA had mailed me two free passes. So, except for travel and PATCO (and a $4.00 pretzel!) it was a reasonably cheap way to spend an afternoon / evening.

i would have to agree that i went to the philly car show hoping to see an m6 or the new m3 but got squat, there was a 535xi there though , and why is bmw next to mercury and not next to mercedes and lexus. their displays were great, saw alot of MB that were nice like the sl55 amg (my favorte M, e63 amg, but still love BMW.
