Yesterday, passing by my BMW dealer I was asked if I want to test drive the new E92 M3. Of course I took the chance to do that and they gave me the car key and let me go. So all by my self I had the chance to play with this beast for around one hour. I set up all the possible features on Sport mode. Starting from the power, I do not know which are the three power modes on this specific model. Wild guess would be abt 350 bhp in "normal" and max power abt. 430 bhp + M stability program in "Msport". I did not find out how is in sport mode only. Moreover I adjusted the EDC and DSC to M mode without knowing what it was all about.
Start driving on a highway going up hill with many corners I immediately understood that this way of set up DSC+EDC gives a more sporty way of taking corners as electronic start helping only when the car is at its limits and allows the car drifting a little before taking over the control. This features is really nice specially, for those like me, who would never be able to power slide a car as has never get a racing course. In this way you feel like you are always driving on the edge but in total safety as electronic would help you before things are getting too sour. After the highway I tried the descent on normal roads with many curves as well and I was pretty convinced about the handling and how well it stays firm on corners. The engine is generous and has enough torque at all rotations even though the best you get from the car is above 5000 rpm. It means that by aggressive drive you have to keep always a low gear and has to work a lot on stick gear and clutches. Actually I was missing a lot paddle shifters on the steering wheel. Never the less going through a tunnel with open windows you hear the magnificent sound of this angry V8. Believe me that people on the road were looking what the hell was passing by. All in all I loved the car also because smaller than my 530i thous more fun to drive and anyway it is very spadeful inside being jus a bit longer than 4,5 m it has nothing to envy to the M6 that costs more than 30.000 EUR more plus on the end of the journey I saw that fuel economy was not bad as it stopped at 14,8 l/100 km.

Do you need to dream for a manual 3 series ?
Come on, try to dream a dual clutch M5 with a V12 6000 550 hp instead of that stupid V10 .

Not bad . But the engine is only a 4.0 .

Nice and quite quick, but it remains a 3 series
