Good evening members!

I am seeking for all ratios of the new M3 .
Gearbox and final drive ratio (somethink like 3.8xx, I heard) .

Did some online magazine report them in their road/track test ?

Thank you!

Hmmm... 7 gears? The new M3 is as far as I know a stick shifted 6-speed? At the demo I was last week they said that they are waiting for a new gear box later on some kind of SMG/DSG.

The numbers he gave are for 6 gears... the 7th gear is left empty probably for the automatic transmission...

cheers

Ok, as you know I'm planning to change my final drive ratio inside the differential, to have 10% shorter gears than now .

Ok, theorically I should go faster than the M3, because :

a) I should reach 380-390 HP with new catalyst and headers in october (and previous mods) .

b) M3 gears and speeds :

@8500 rpm :

(kmh) 67.0, 114.7, 171.8, 228.1, 271.8, 311.7

AlexFW's 545i with 3.23 ratio @6500 rpm :

(kmh) 58.9, 99.6, 151.1, 200.6, 239.1, 274.2

The weight is similar, because the M3 weighs 1580 Kg and the 545i 1630 Kg .

If in this world exists a justice, I should beat the M3 on the 0-200 (0-125 kmh) .

In these moments I would like to have the 550i instead of the 545i (but doesn't matter, with 20-30 kmh less on the forth gear I should win all the same) .

The problem could be the future "SMG3" M3, because, with 7 gears, I figure it will have shorter gears than the 6 MT .

Will see, but for now I like these numbers!
