Hello folks,

A few days ago i drove our X6 50i on highway at dawn. Since the highway was so light in traffic, i decided to try an top the speed out of the X6. By then i never passed 220 km/h.

And so i did, only to see if it can reach 250km/h and if it does how easy or hard. Well...it reached 250 and then some. When it hit the 250 mark (HUD) i almost backed off since those roads are not good enough for that sustained speed, but decided to see if the limiter kicks in, and to my surprise it didn't. Car kept going and going and after 10-15 seconds i was at 260 km/h where it got limited i suppose. I say this because it climbed pretty easy to 260. Not to say effortless but still relentless.

That was a surprise for me, going in a 2.3 tone truck at 260km/h. Now i dunno if it will do it again, because if i recall correctly my 535d also when maxed out for the 1st time went over 250 but after that never again (like the limiter calibrated itself).

And sorry no proof for this, no pics or video (too busy driving ).

Cheers!

That's great that they let you take car out and test drove it like you did. We can never do that here in the states, well at least in the tri state area. X6 is definitely growing me, I didn't like it at all in the beginning. Thanks for sharing your test drive exprience.

No in fact i own the car and here are some pics of it.

No one would let me test drove the car like that. Heck if i were the sales man i wouldn't also. It was not safe driving like that at max throttle, but i had to know

Then I should say "nice ride you got there". Agreed, sometimes you just have to know...

Well while he's at it, why not add a supercharger?

How many PSI can you take it up to?

Does it have the same engine as the new 7?

X6 50i and 750i I believe are the same engine: N63

the X6 x35 is the N54 motor....so I am not sure if the N63 is even compatible with the jb3 as that is tuned for the N54 motor
