the X6 x35 is the N54 motor....so I am not sure if the N63 is even compatible with the jb3 as that is tuned for the N54 motor

Gene, you are an encyclopedia (or at least a Wikipedia) of BMW knowledge.

The F10 550, with that N63 motor, is going to be sooo much faster than the E60 550.

It seems so easy and cheap to significantly boost the output of FI engines (albeit at the probable cost of engine lifespan).

Yes however i will not do it. Some may say that not chipping FI engines is blasphemy but i think 400 is more than enough for most of the city drive that i do (it's already overkill). Also we don't have the highways to justify smth like this.
