In 2007 International Engine of the Year Awards, in the 2.5L to 3.0L category, the BMW 3.0L engine come third after the 3.0L Twin Turbo and BMW 3.0L Diesel Twin Turbo. Does anyone know which petrol 3.0L this is? Is it the current one in the LCI (I believe N53B30) or the previous one (I believe N52B30).

This is the link to the results - http://www.ukintpress.com/engineoftheyear/...rs_07/25_3.html

Thanks,

ASenna04

Aswell as the 2.5-3.0 category, the same engine ALSO won the "Best New engine" and "International Engine of the Year" awards! And Best performance engine went to the M5/M6 engine for the third year running, stomping past the AMG65 offering!

The N54B30 is the 3.0L Twin Turbo that won the 2.5L - 3.0L category as well as Best Engine of the Year 2007 overall. The 3.0L Diesel Twin Tubo (M57D30TU) was second in the 2.5L - 3.0L category. The third listed in the link (http://www.ukintpress.com/engineofth...s_07/25_3.html) is

3. BMW 3-litre (Z4, 330, 530, 630, 730)

My question is which one is this - the LCI (N53B30) or the previous one (N52B30).

Regards,

My guess is it is the N52B30, since the current 3.0L in the 530i is not available in Z4, 330, 530, 630, 730 as stated.

The current 3.0l is available in 272bhp trim in 630i,530i and 330i.

But not 272bhp for 7 series and Z4.

Who knows?
