Overall it is a fantastic car, great model year for production. However, the following is a list of problems I have had on a November 2001 MY02 325xi:
- some intermittent sensor problems related to DSC and the all-wheel transmission on the '02 325xi. This became very severe during a storm - all wheel drive and DSC were disabled and I slid around quite a bit until I could get an appointment with my SM.
- NAV locks up once every few months and requires car power off to reset.
- Steering wheel radio station presets 1 and 6 get overwritten in certain situations.
- Slight rattling with passenger-side rear fold down seat when 180lb+ passenger is sitting there.

I am looking forward to my MY06 530i!

mainly depends on your buy out amount, usually the residual is still higher than marker value.

Yeah, though whether buying the car makes financial sense is a separate issue. Investigating the long term reliability is a separate due-dilligence issue to bring into the ultimate decision. In this case, the car has been properly looked after and never been driven hard so might be worth some premium to an owner thinking of buying-out the lease.

I have a 330CIC. Love it. No issues. Some electrical quirks, but had to do with a rough bump it took.

I've got a 2002 330 CiC and have had no problems. Quite reliable in all aspects.
