Firmware Software Update 2010 BMW 328i
Hello, everyone, Thank you very much for allowing me to be part of this forum.
I am having an issue with my 2010 328i sedan, I wanted to update the navigation maps, I used a USB memory stick inserted in the glove compartment, I entered the FSC code and when I was in the process of the upgrade at about 80%, an error message popped out saying "that disc could not be read."
I tried the same process 3 times with the same results.
I inquired and I was informed that on 2010 early production 328i there was a glitch with the firmware and that it needed to be updated before it could take the navigation map upgrade.
My question is, How do I update the firmware software? I it something that I can accomplish or would I have to take the car to the dealership?
Your help and comments are greatly appreciated.
Best regards,

Do you have the BMW software loaded on a laptop to perform software updates if not then you will have to get that first then learn how to use it. If you are not tech savvy then you have to take it in to get your modules updated.

I took mine to an indy software diagnostics technician who charges per module. I had all of the modules updated which was thirty something modules. $160.
