Here's a few more iPhone pics I took over the weekend. Since it was nice out, I took the hardtop off.

There is no doubt that in Europe the BMW brand has been synonymous with quality build and luxury style, cars that will last for some time. This has even span across the Atlantic to the USA, where many buy BMW's knowing why and what they are buying. This perception of the brand has expanded into buying salvage or crash damaged cars, knowing that when out back on the road again, there still can be many years of life.

After a brief absence since July, when I turned in my '08 335i, we're back to BMW.
Picked up a '11 AW/Black E90 M3 yesterday. I got one of the last few in the state, drove up to Advantage Midtown in Houston from San Antonio in the morning. My salesman, Frank, was great. After exchanging a few emails earlier in the week, we quickly came to an agreeable price and arranged 0.9 financing from BMWFS.
This was the first time I've purchased a new car sight unseen and never having met the salesman in person. Everything went very smoothly, they quickly did their due diligence on my trade, for which I had them match a buy bid I had from Carmax (which was higher than their initial offer). Signed a few things, then met with the finance manager. He quickly did his sales pitch on the usual items like tire coverage and extended warranty/maintenance options, most of which I declined. A few more signatures, no money changed hands and I was out the door.
Frank quickly went through the features of the car, most of which I already knew from my previous car and a quick read of the owner's manual online.
Overall one of the easiest car buying transactions I've ever had, kudos to the guys at Advantage.
Spent the night at The Four Seasons, had a great dinner at Brennan's and left to return home this morning, itching to take a drive in the new ride.
After getting lost a few times trying to get around a section of the interstate that was closed, got onto the open road where I could stop worrying about where I was going and focus on the car.
Mostly cruised around 80, trying to slow down and speed up some to avoid running at constant RPM's. Did get up close to 100mph on some passing maneuvers. Love the engine, just loves to pull. Great steering feel and handling. Played around with idrive, really glad I ended up getting the more optioned car. I love the way you can change the channel list in Sat radio to show the artist playing instead of the channel name.
Made a 20 mile detour to the BBQ capital of TX, Lockhart. Hit the M button on that section, had preset it to S4 with everything else in normal. Very quick shifts, great rev-matching downshifts. I really like the DCT, it may be even better than the PDk in my Cayman S. Had lunch at Black's, amazing brisket and beef ribs.
Let my wife take over for the last hour or so and really got into exploring the idrive features and programmed some stations for her. Got the apps running, the internet radio feature is great, so many channels to choose from.
Was originally looking at a low-optioned car, but really glad I got the loaded one, I can already tell comfort access and some of the other goodies will be appreciated.
Here are the specs:
2011 E90 Alpine White- produced in late August, 20 miles at delivery.
Black Novillo Leather
CF leather trim
Premium Package 2
Convenience Package
Competition Package
DCT
Heated seats
Sat radio
BMW apps
Moonroof

Now need to get past the break-in period, so I can really explore the capabilities of this great car. I think it's the perfect companion to my Cayman S. Will be mostly my wife's ride, but I'll drive it frequently to keep the mileage down some on my DD P-car.
