I went to the "celebrate the 3" last night in Seattle. They had two cars, a basic 325 and a 330 W/Sport. They looked nice. Well proportioned etc. The cars were definitely driven, there were bug parts all over the grill and road grime under the hood. I found this not very appropriate for "Show Cars". They talked for about 10 minutes on the cars (not very convincingly) telling us about how the cars were heavier, bigger, and more powerful. They also commented on the use of run-flats and the removal of the spare tire. When I checked out the 325 it had regular all season tires and no spare.

For the modding crew there will no fender rolling. The inner fender comes down at an angle to meet the outer fender at the wheel arch.

was it at night that you went to the showing? I think during the day they drive the cars and we can "follow" them so i opted not to attend that. If I can drive it then I would have.

But what was for dinner?

LA. Peterson Automotive museum. Tell me whats good there when you come back ok? I hope theres something cool... Cuz if its just "view" the 3 series.. eh.... I can see that at the dealership... Long Beach BMW already has a 330 for sale at 40K... I like it... its better in person. I dont like the rear tho, still...

Hi Noonehome!! Im from seattle too. I was planning to attend the Westin part, but suddenly I had some emergency matters.
Btw, I saw the new 3 on the BMW Seattle showroom. They have it in 3 colors. sparkling graphite, silver (330 sport), and black.

The car indeed looks very sharp and proportional. I think this is the best compact sport luxury sedan on the market. rocks!!

The interior does look like our car, E60. This is really the strip down version of 5. I just felt I was in a 5 series miniature

Overall, Im reallly pleased with the car. This car rocks!!

For Nonehome, you can test drive the car or even buy the car on the lot if you want to. they offer me the price and test drive already.

Just got back, they did not have dinner, just hourdervz (spelling??) and a Cash Bar. They had a 330i sport in silver, and 325i sport in grey, and 325i in blue. Not bad looking when your up close.

Still like my 5 better. I can't fit in the back seat of the new 3, unless I have a midget sitting in the front seat, but I was able to get comfortable in the drivers seat, which is all that matters.

Hey just came back... it was better than OK. I actually enjoyed it. It was hosted at the Peterson Automotive Museum here in LA so we got to tour the museum for free too. Food was good. It wasnt dinner but I managed... Free drinks... and we had Goo Goo Dolls perform live. not bad! it was broadcasted on Sirus radio all night.

Only thing I didnt like was the valet parking... I didnt want to give up my car... and then when i left they said that'll be $6... I was like WHAT!!! its not the $6 but the fact that I didnt want valet parking and now I gotta PAY for it. ARGH! They should have mentioned it wasnt free before taking my car away from me.

Here are some pics.
