I have a Boxster 2.5 and have driven the Z4 3.0.

The Boxster handles much better than the Z4. Turn-in, steeriing, changing directions are so much more direct and immediate. The Boxster feels like a go-kart, the Z4 feels more lazy.

The Z4 is more comfortable, suspension is softer.

Boxster sounds like a classic flat6. Z4 sounds like an artificial V8.

Boxster is the more fun sports car for driving hard.
Z4 is the more comfortable car for cruising.

My neighbour owns a Boxster, can't stand looking at it. Z4 for me please! Besides, I'd rather not be raped by the Porsche options list.

Sure, I'd take a boxster over a Z4, but the only boxster I'd get would be a boxster S. Now the boxster S is comparable to the m roadster with the m roadster costing about $5-10 less.

I'd at least wait for the Z4 coupes to come out before you make your decision.

I thought about the Z4 for about two seconds. The Z4 is a fine car. Just for complete balance and fun to drive for a true sports car the Boxster is an awsome machine. I love every minute in mine.

That's a hard decision. I have a porsche, and I luv it. Porsche will always be a porsche. nothing handles like a prosche. But I'm also a BMW fan. This is going to be a hard decision.

Z4 here all the way. Why? Because it sounds better (to my own taste) because of the straight 6, because it's so much better styled and looks so much better and at this chapter boxter is old so pretty much is gayman (pardon cayman) even though it's a new model imo is just a boxter with a tin roof and a bit uglier at the back. Z4 is still and it's going to be for a long time a head turner while boxter lost his charm long time ago. And if we talk about the Z4 M/coupe i would choose it over almost everything, boxter s and cayman S. For me Porsche means 911 S at least...and continues with GT3, GT3 RS, GT2, and Turbo (that's pretty much what porsche means for me). I've always thought about the boxter as a lower budget 911(cabrio) and it really is if u ask me.
So Z4 all the way.
