Is anyone waiting to buy the 2006 Z4 (especially with the new si engines)? How would it compare with the benchmark Boxster?

I rather have a Boxster

They are both fine with a slight edge going to the boxster according to Automobile Magazine. The new coupes look to be great cars.

Another vote for the Boxter.

Boxster, without a shadow of a doubt

havent seen the new Z, but the boxster engine sounds soooooo darn good. im not a fan of the boxster styling though.

The German car magazine Autobild tested the Boxster against the Z4 with the new 265 hp N52 engine.

The Z4 won the test, see this link.

It's in German but with a little fantasy I'm sure you guys get the point.

PS. The Boxter is built in Finland :o

Boxer for me ...

I would go for the boxster S. I would choose the Z4 over the ordinary boxster (thinking now about the 2.5 and 3.0 versions.)

There is one other reason of me having the Z4, the Z4 M

Cheers

No. The Z4 is too small for me. I like the look of the new Boxster a tad better (old one was yuck) and it probably has the performance edge with the mid-engine layout and lighter weight.

If going sportscar, I'd go for a 3.6L Cayman. This car rips at the heels of the 997. Of course I can barely fit into this car too. Heck, my 550 feels like a damn sports car and is as comfy as heck. :P
