Default Just signed up today. Already have a question...

Have a 2007 BMW 525i that just turned over 77,000 miles. Got it a little over a year ago. I'm the third owner. Previous owner got it from a BMW Dealer, as a Certified Used Car. It was traded-in to the Used Car Lot I work for. Everything seems to work and overall to be in great condition. Carfax is clean. No service history is known. I changed the filters (air, oil, and cabin) and the engine oil (Pennzoil Full Synthetic 5w 30) right after I got it. My plan is to keep this car for several more years and then move to a newer model 5 series. My concern is with the automatic transmission. It works great, does not appear to have any leaks and the fluid level has always shown to be correct. No dipstick to check the color or smell of the fluid is a problem for me. I'm old school and feel the need to have the fluid changed, but I keep hearing that the "Lifetime" fluid should not be messed with. My local Mechanic tells me to leave well enough alone, that I may be starting trouble by poking the sleeping bear if I have it serviced. Any feed-back from community will be greatly appreciated.
