I have been reading and posting for a couple of months and realized that I had not introduced myself. I recently purchased a 2005 CPO 530i Silver Grey Metallic with cool weather package, black leather interior, premium sound, automatic. Got the automatic since it gets tiring sitting on I10 in traffic working a clutch. Also have a 1995 318ic with 150 k miles. that my son drives but I enjoy taking for a spin to work that manual tranny. Previous BMW's include my High School 2002 which is probably around a 1970 but could have been older. Just dont remember. My late wife had a 320 she brought back from Germany in 1986 so it was probably around a 1980 but not sure about that either. We have also had a 1998 528 which I wish I had never sold but it belonged to her and I felt weird driving it. I bought a 1998 740 i shortly thereafter but ended up selling it due to the extended warranty company going bankrupt and that 8 cylinder burned dollars along with the Exxon gas.
I work in the oil industry and have for almost 30 years, but on the production side. That career has taken me from Oklahoma City to Midland, Tx to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to Stavanger, Norway and now Houston where I work on one of our largest fields in West Africa. You probably can tell from some of my posts already. I have two kids age 15 and 16 that swim at a high level and got me back into Master's swimming since "retiring" after University. Cannot even come close to keeping up with them anymore but great exercise and great friends.
I enjoy the forum and hope I can contribute as much as I have gained. Fred
