Hello everyone. I just picked up a 2008 535i and decided to join this forum so that I can get advice and info from people with more E60 experience than I have. I’ve been a gear head for as long as I can remember and decided to get another project. I’ve always been a muscle car / pony car fan and have had a few of them in the past. I still like them but I wanted something different this time around. I wanted the “Ultimate Driving Experience”. I found a 335i coupe for sale in my neighborhood and liked the way it looked. I decided to research the car and found out about the N54 motors great tuning potential. I decided I had to have one and contacted the seller, but I was too late. I looked around and saw some that were either too expensive, too messed up or both. I finally found a 335i sedan and entered negations with the owner, but he flaked on me and said he wanted to keep it until the summer. I went to the BMW dealership and looked at some CPO’s and realized I was chasing the wrong model. That was when I went after the 535i. I found one that came off of a lease with 54k miles, clean carfax, and complete dealer service history. It even still has some of the maintenance warranty left. I scooped it up and haven’t stopped smiling since. That’s my lengthy intro. I looked forward to seeing what you guys are doing to your cars and to the advice that I’m sure I’m going to need.
