Well this one took some doing and a hell of a lot of patience but I finally got it done. I added an LCI iDrive controller to my already modified CIC. The end result looks great!! If anyone is interested in the details on how to do this, check out more info in this thread.

I finally got around to installing the LCI Climate Control. Now I have a complete match of all associated hardware for my CIC. One of the major differences between the old controller and the new one is when you change a climate setting using the knobs/buttons on the controller, the iDrive software responds by prompting the appropriate menu on-screen for review and feedback. Very cool (no pun intended).

Things have been quiet for me in the past several months as my precious 5 stayed in storage away from the cold Canadian winter and the crazy amounts of salt our city of Toronto likes to put down on the roads. I got the car back on Thursday and completed another mod which I was preparing for a few months back. With the help of Patryk, I sent my CiC back to Poland for further programming upgrades in order to accommodate modification of the car's TCU to the new and improved Combox.
The module allows for lots of iDrive enhancements such as:
Tethered Internet Access
In-car office (Calender)
Contact card image transfer
Text-to-speech
Call log update
Bluetooth audio streaming
Album art display
Voice control of external devices
You can read more about it here:

I've done a few more mods and took some new pics of my car today. Nothing fanciful, just in the parking lot outside my body shop....but they came out pretty good.
I installed a Carbon Fiber Hamann Splitter for the front end. It integrated seamlessly with the "M" Tech Body kit and looks great. The Carbon Fiber matches the underside of my M5 mirrors and looks very "clean".

I also swapped out my rear view mirror given that I had the "builder basic" model, for one with Homelink and Compass. This one was fairly complex as you've got to route a wire harness from the driver-side foot-well, up the pillar and into the headliner. Also removing the old mirror proved to be a real pain in the ass and I actually broke my windshield in the process. (Yeah, you read that right!).
Everything is back together now and the new mirror works flawlessly. No need for that garage door opener clipped to my visor any longer. I posted a how-to thread on this for anyone who wants to undertake this themselves. It can be found here:
