The "normal" tour is approx 2.5 hours. I'm assuming they'll do a better-than-that tour for us (I'll find out later about this). The visitor's center may remain open for the duration. They have seats, but there's really nothing to do there after looking at the one M5 and a couple of displays. Your kid/s and wife will be bored out of their skulls.

The visitor's center was closed when we returned from our tour, but ours was the last tour of the day. They could hang out at the BMW store, but it's really just a room - maybe 40x40 feet and not a place to hang out for 2+ hours. 1/2 hour max I'd say.

They could stay at the hotel perhaps? Yeah, too bad about the kid restriction and thanks for bringing it up Berlin.BMER - I'd forgotten to mention it.

I guess that the factory shall take responsibility for the visitors, and for children it is high risk...

Count me as very interested in attending. My wife and I have been needing an excuse to go to Europe and this would be a great one. She has never been and I need to see relatives in Geneva. I have only been once and it was a long time ago. Would love to meet up with my e60 brothers and sisters...

Too bad we can't bring either of our 5's.

Regards, Mike

First comment: "I guess that the factory shall take responsibility for the visitors, and for children it is high risk..."

I don't know that the factory would do that. An idea would be if we have enough people for at least two tours and you come with your spouse and children AND your spouse is interested on the tour as well, one of you could take the AM tour while the other stays with the child/children and then just switch for the PM tour. That way you both get to see the tour and the children are well taken care of. Then we can ALLl meet after the day at the factory and chill out - or go to the next place - hopefully BMW Munich and Garmisch

Just an idea...

And the second: "Not many people yet, do you think it will happen... "

They do a max of 30 people per tour. If we have at least 50 people (owners/family/guests) we can do two tours. My concern is not having enough participation and have BMW lose interest and just give us a regular "tourist" tour. If we have E60 owners en masse, they will (according to Klaus) treat us to a more behind the scenes tour and we'll get to talk with Engineers and stuff. The normal tour leaves no room/time for questions. You move from station to station and then you're literally - escorted out of the grounds and back into the Visitor's Center.

A good showing WITH our own cars - or rentals for those of you from out of town - way out of town, will let BMW know we're serious about this and we (hope?) to be treated with more care.

I am honestly a bit disappointed at the response. And again, let me reiterate this. If we don't have at least 50 people commited to the time come Christmas, I'll stop my effort. You all have to really set a time aside and do this.

Last thing, I'd selected June/July/August because Klaus told me BMW needs 6-7 months to set it up for us (and because those are the warm months here). If some of you can't do it until later, say so, and if the rest agree, we could change it, but I'd rather we do not start changing things. It will make it harder for the whole group I think.

Regards.
