WOW!!!
That must be quite a high percentage of evry F40 ever made! I have seen one in my life on the street. A bit of an interesting story. A coworker and I had training in Boca Raton Florida, an upscale retirment community. Mercedes were more common than Hondas. Ferarri 360s where a dime a dozen and it got old and boring spotting them all even though Ken was a HUGE fan of them. We headed to the beach, parked our rental and headed out to enjoy the scenery. I heard a high pitched growl, turned and looked. I had to yell "Grab your camera quick!" since mine was still buried in its bag. He turned, snapped a pic and salvated as the F40 drove by. The pic was on his cube wall for months after that.....

Woah! That's amazing, especially the first photo where they're all on the highway. I can't imagine what I would do if I looked in the rearview and saw that crew. I'd probably think I was seeing things. The closest thing to that I've experienced as far as an unexpected large group of cars anyway, was five years ago in the Badlands of South Dakota. It was Corvette's 50th anniversary year and about 100 Vettes in practically every body style, model year, and configuration came up behind my wife and I as we were on our way to Mt. Rushmore. The whole group parked together on the monument's lot and we got a free car show.

The biggest group of cars I saw on the road was up near the Blue Ridge Parkway. I was at Looking Glass Falls with a group of 7 BMWs. We thought we had a nice group. Just as we arrived, here come Mustangs up the hill, car after car. I lost count as the procession seemed to last 5 minutes. I would guess 50-100.

However I have been in a group that may beat that. South East Sharkfest '07 had almost 100 cars. On the drive day we split into two groups of 40+ cars to keep the size manageable for parking, restaurants, etc. It was a real pain keeping just 40 cars together.

Saturday morning, we did a 7am picture at the Biltmore Estate with all the cars. My camera got most of them. We then did a car show near the Biltmore Winery and the E24s and older got judged.

PS: For anyone in the South East with a BMW, SESF 2008 is late April in Winston Salem, NC. See SESF for details.
