Hi all, I'm finally back into the swing of things here. Looks like a good meet building up, too, and I'm looking forward to it already. As for the previous meet, Mrs. MacSid and I will be staying on in Maastricht on the Saturday night, and I'll be more than happy to co-ordinate hotel bookings for anyone else who wants to stay. PM me details and I'll start looking out the hotels and availability. Doc Horror recommended a great one last time and I'll be giving them a call this week (hopefully they'll have forgotten me since April )

I contacted the t-shirt company via email who does the DSC-off shirts, but never heard back from them. So I suggest we forget about using them as a supplier, because if they can't answer an email, I don't have much confidence in them sending us our t-shirts!

Lets see if we can find a local supplier to print them up for us. There are plenty in Wiesbaden, so I'll try to find one who can also take online/group purchases.

If anyone else has a good print shop, then post up the details or simply go ask them...!!

Thumbs down

** Accommodation Update **

Folks, looks like the meet weekend is a busy one for Maastricht hoteliers, with many of the hotels in downtown locations already full or filling up.

The status I have at the moment is as follows:
see map below - hotels are labelled; the Vrijthof is the old town square (blue pin); boxed area is the shops/restaurants/cafes/pubs district
EUROPEAN MEET -- SAT. 18th OCT. 2008-maastricht.jpg
- Hotel Botticelli: FULL
- Hotel Du Casque: EUR 159 per room (incl. breakfast). Parking in a public car park underneath the Vrijthof. They have rooms, but they're going fast.
- Crowne Plaza: TBC, but looks like EUR 160 per room (excl. breakfast)
- Beaumont: no response from them yet

The basic message is: we need to move fast. I'm also trying to get a group discount for us - the Du Casque and Crowne Plaza are thinkin' about it.

People confirmed as needing accommodation are:

1. xBMWx - Double / Non smoking
2. MacSid - Double / Non smoking
3. Thyrus - Double / Non smoking
4. smoppett - Single / Non smoking
5. SIX cabrio - Double / Non smoking
6. BMWMB - Double / Non smoking

If anyone else needs accommodation, please PM me asap as I'm aiming to lock us in by tomorrow morning at the latest. After that, there's no guarantee that we'll all be able to get into the same place, or that we'll get in anywhere central.

Please also do shout if you've got any ideas or preferences based on what you see in the links above. Mrs. MacSid and I have stayed in the Du Casque and found it OK, but a little old. Not been in any of the others.

Garehaan will also be attending the meet!

The option of visiting Kohl is NOT viable for oktober, but they will organise something for us for the next upcoming meet in spring 2009.

@ MacSid: Since you're from Amsterdam and I'm from Hilversum, maybe we can join up on our "journey" to Koln?
