It was a great day people, nice pics btw.
And i will thank my (girl)friend to drive in Germany, she did it very well

In the still of dawn, nothing stirred... except for e60.netters gathering for a mini convoy to Koln
Quick introductions exchanged, it was time to hit the road...
... greeting the rising sun as we went
Of course, rising suns, e60 mirrors and scattered cirrus clouds make for serious arty-fartiness (just for you, Pete )
It may be a windmill, but we had actually already crossed into Germany and were settled into high-speed-convoy-cruise
Mr & Mrs 320d touring
Roadworks briefly held us up but it was soon time to exit the autobahn
The early arrivals lined up at Hammer
The final touches were added to the cars before we headed inside...
... where there were Bentleys

After refreshing ourselves with coffee and ogling the beauties on display at Hammer, it was back outside to form up for the autobahn run to Vaals
BMWs stretched out ahead and to the rear, the convoy headed to the autobahn...
... where our cars gave us fun...
when was that last washed, Andy?
... comfort at high speed...
... and a fleeting sense of invincibility, leaving some of us bewildered at being passed by a fellow member
Of course, there were bimmers everywhere
All too soon, we arrived in Vaals and parked up and compared notes on our cars...
...while our better halves compared notes on us

I have to admit, I still laugh out loud when I even think of 320d touring's "don't try to keep up with me" pic of Andy, with sagely upraised hand and all of us paying rapt attention. It's a classic!

Thanks for the thumbsup on the pictures. Credit for 95% of them goes to Mrs MacSid, though.
I ended up spending most of my time either behind the wheel or making sure we had everyone together... and I'm already thinking ahead to April. We really should push for a full weekend in Munich and BWM Welt plus a factory tour.
