I will just "brainstorm" some ideas out there to get the ball rolling
- Cruising on the Motorway and blocking traffic (J/K) - 4 lanes, all BMWs alongside it > fun for 10 minutes
- Spa
- Driving to the Northsea (either TheHague or Scheveningen) - eat there and chill out and admire our cars -> but 3 hours in Dutch traffic does not sound that appealing (sorry to my fellow drivers from the Netherlands) -> I do love the location though if weather permits!!
- Driving to the Ring (again, event on that day) - I researched some more, it would be the 50. ADAC ACAS H&R Cup, Training 08.00. Start 12.00 -> wasnt aware of the event, here is last years report
http://www.prova.de/archiv/2007/00-artikel...cas/index.shtml
From what I can gather, we would just show up and pay 10? per person to get in. Again, start is 12.00 which may be an issue (very early, but I assume we can get in even after the race starts. Doesnt look to crowded.

salut encore une fois!
my 3cts:
- I love the N?rburgring idea especially since it is quite close to the MEET.
Given the end of April we should really expect nothing but a nice weather, in my opinion.
Northsea (or Hague / Amsterdam in this sense) do not seem any worse, as a bad-weather back-up plan, of course.. )
- what do you think about finding a place to eat where we could actually park our E60s around to admire and enjoy, instead of leaving the poor things all tightly parked in a center city Aachen parking? I am not sure if there are any good such places around but I assume there must be (in Luxembourg-ville alone I know at least 2-3 places located outside the city with a big, comfortable customers' parking where all the cars would easily fit, and food and drinks as well as restaurant's setting are as good as the "old-town" places, or better..
Any ideas?
- To be honest I am not that morning person to get there at 10 o'clock (I'd have to leave home around 7:30... ouch...
I'd prefer noon, or min. 11:00 - if possible, and in return we could stay late til evening (I surely do hope it will be nice weather end of April...)
But, anyway, if the democratic common vote decides it's 10 o'clock - then let it be

Heyho,
I am sort of familiar with Aachen since my Grandmother lived there.
The city center is off-limits for cars, and Aachen is quite a weird-planned city IMHO. The only venue I can think of is a Hotel which I remember (unfortunatley from my grannie's funeral) which was on the "outskirts" of Aachen, close to the highway exit actually, where they have a restaurant - but as far as I can remember, the restaurant is inside (and sort of upscale, not your local pub), the cars outside - not much of an idea....
So, to my best knowledge, Aachen would be "no-go" for sitting in a restaurant with our babies in sight - but I am not a local...
So - the RING idea is growing on me - but if we meet at 11.00 and the race starts at 12.00, I am not sure whether we would still get in. Mind you, it is a 4 hours race, with 210 cars to start with And apparently, it seems to be BMW vs Porsche for the Pole!
Now, from 16.00 - 18.00 there is an "aftershow", last year it was the 2007 BMW F1 car cruising around - but noone knows yet what this year will bring.
Cheers
Patrick
PS: I presume it is ok to get in later (i.e when we get there, after the start of the race say 14.00), after reading the website more carefully, no admission charge around the Ring, only 10? for the pit.
RE: Pete aka XBMWX aka "F.F." - I saw last time around you asked for WalkyTalkys - I presume you and I can take care of a couple of MTH800s in DMO mode - I could probably get 5-7 from my team here so could you get the rest? 15 BMWs, each one with a Police Radio cruising along at 250ish on the Motorway - I am sure we would encounter quite some "weirded out" innocent bystanders Might even make the press LOL

Besides, I am sure we could get some good German food and beer around the RING as well?

Hey,
All ideas are fine with me re: meeting somewhere closer
And I remember last time I stuffed my face with Bratwurst and Fries and Pete had to roll me home (a.k.a my car)
RE WalkyTalkys, Pete and I are working for a company that equips security forces with radios, so if you want to, we (Pete and I) can discuss if can make them available if the forum wants that - but we would have to ask you to "safeguard" them "with your life" due to cost/security issues as these are not toys

Getting back to the matter in hand, thanks for ideas guys
Totally agree with Aachen town centre being unsuitable for this many attendees. Something out of town with a big car park and good food is the way forward.
Maybe there is something near to the Nurburgring where we can go?
What about the whole Spa idea?
And is there not a track in Belgium which could also offer us a similar day out?
(Totally maxed out at work at the moment and will be until next week, so could do with some help getting the venue sorted -- thanks in advance guys )

Guys,
Just checked again - the WalkyTalkies are a no-go, my team uses them that weekend.
Sorry for the confusion ...

My Ride: G30 530i M-sport
Model Year: 2018
I'm up to my eyeballs this week too, so it will be the weekend before I do any brainstorming on a location. If there is going to be a change, we need to do it soon, however, while there is still time to cancel hotel reservations in Maastricht.
