"Dude, how's your tranny?" - is NOT a question you ever wanna hear. But in the end, it was nothing but a little scare and the car held up really well:
We were flying by the places with the views faster than my gf could take the lensecap off and frame a shot, but a couple did come out pretty nicely:
But all things must end somewhere - this is where we ended the awesome ride:
(the cars are all bugged up - windshield, front bumpers...)

BTW I'm planning another drive - not as challenging as those roads that Scott picked and we'll probably be taking a drive through the entire thing to make notes on road conditions and so on. So far, the route I've planned is rated "excellent" by bikers' sites for asphalt quality, so that's a good sign. Anyway, I have a feeler thread out in the meet and greet section, so do join
- it should be a blast
