I REALLY did not want to make this thread into anything political, but how can I get around it, when the park rangers office is telling me that we would have to pay 200 up front plus 50 per hour while we're shooting to just take some friggin' pictures?!?! And today - get this! - they just didn't even respond to my email. Wow... I am extremely disappointed. I expected the permit to cost some nominal fee and was prepared to just pay it myself (as a retribution for the botched meet on the 16th, I guess), but when she started telling me it is in the hundreds of dollars, I nearly lost it... so yes, disappointing as it may be, it sure looks like we'll have to find another location - I'm scouting and taking suggestions, guys

honestly im kinda suprised that they give you such a hard time.. because in gateway national park over here where my boat is every sunday they have a car show.. its classic cars.. vette's (hate them) some bikes.. and its in the mail parking lot.. they just hang around for the morning hours and such, but i have never seen the park police complain ever to them.. this has been going on for years too.. oh well.. doubt its helpful to this photo shoot.. but i thought id let you know.. mel
