Chile wins!!!!
Unfortunately for Chile, their next game will be their toughest group game. They will be facing a highly motivated Spanish team (already up 2-0) on Honduras who will feel they must win, and will not want to rely on the Honduras/Swiss result.

Agreed, my comments about Chile are 'tounge-in-cheek" since my parents homeland RARELY gets to the World Cup and has just won their first WC game in 48 years. Not exactly expecting them to barnstorm through to the finals here, but weirder things have happened, they are just a few "phantom calls" away from a year long celebration

If we (i'm from Chile) make it to the next round the only chance that we have of going to quarter finals would be if we played against Portugal and for that to happen Chile needs to be qualify 1st, and that means beating Spain next Friday or draw; and Honduras beating or pulling a draw w/Switzerland too; and if we qualify 2nd then we're probably up against Brazil which means it'd be end of the road for Chile in this WC. :-(

It looks tough since our # 10, Matias Fernandez won't play this Friday (2 yellow cards), and our #9 Suazo is barely recovering from an injury and not in his best shape, hope he can recoup in 4 days.

It's been an interesting WC - most of the bigger names haven't really pulled their weight w/the exception of the usual suspects, Brazil, Germany, and Argentina.
Itlay, France, and England apparently went to South Africa for vacation because they haven't done much - no offense to my fellow forum members.
At this stage with almost everyone having played already 2 games, not many have 6 pts or even 3 to show for, so basicaly just relying on goal differences to be able to move to the next round.

That offside call with a disallowed goal was another questionable call by the WC referee. It's a good thing that the US came out ahead this time.
