i got a PS3 (80GB model) and its a awesome machine. The blu-ray player is excellent and provides a beautiful picture on a 1080P TV. Its also the best bang for the buck as a blu-ray player is included in the $499 price (80GB model). a stand alone blu-ray will cost you $499 so its like buying the drive and getting a PS3 for free....
the game selection is not the greatest yet but it will soon get there... Remember when PS2 came out? game shortage was a problem but not anymore....
just the fact that Grand Turismo 5 (HD) is about to be released is worth it!
get it and dont think about it anymore.
Also, some people are even booting up windows XP from a PS3... so its something to think about if you have a home theater

It just cost too much to make a game compare to Wii & 360.
You do know that they are planing to dumped the PS4 project cos they lossing alot of money in the gaming console.

GT on ps3 will be very nice but we have to see about the game play, I hop itis like the last 1 and better too.
+1 on 1st person games 1000time better playing on a PC and easyer too

They are very hard to find at suggested retail price as they sell out as fast as they come in... ebay retailers have them at 50-100% mark up (as much as $550!!!). for a wii in HK it cost about $380us with 4 controlers, mod, 3 free games too.
I think itis because itis a jap vertion and not US but that OK I cant read the japanese but still can work it out.

I have seen both the blu-ray ps3 and HD on 360 and both are not that great, what I mean is it dose not say WOW
This is why I still have not got a HD for my 360 even the price is cheep 360 HD drive $140us.
for films I think I wait till they bring out more blu-ray and HD players.

most of the games out for PS3 are 720P... not 1080P thats why they dont look that great and are not too impressive. but put on a 1080P movie on the PS3 and it will look better than a stand alone blu-ray player. my buddy has a Sony BDP-S300 ($500) and my PS3 provides a better picture without screen artifacts or blockyness... Grand Turismo 5 HD will be one of the very few true 1080P games that will take full advantage of the PS3's processor.
also, it will be just a matter of time (a year or so) till PS3 games catch up cause the PS2 is about to be phased out. it takes longer to produce a PS3 HD game opposed to a normal ps2 game because of the complexity of it all. games still cost the same as they did for the PS2 when first released, about $60 each

I have a Wii and PS3, just got the PS3 in addition to my Wii, my first two Xbox 360's overheated.
Wii - Because its just so much fun.
PS3 - Best graphics and Blue Ray player, more games are coming.

The wife has been asking for a gaming system, which is odd. I'm not really fired up about getting one but I am leaning toward the Wii as we have two children.

my wife and the 2 kids love it, I love it for the mini games and the sports 1 like golf.
