Actually the perfect amount of change is 87.98 cents. That way you can also deal with the small change when you go to the gas pumps ($3.079 near me)

Well, being a former bartender I can tell you - the fewer times you tip the slower your service (we tended to pay attention to the customers who actually paid us). Does it get expensive? Sometimes, but a buck a drink usually resulted in every third drink being on the house (bartender rule of thumb). And the tips amount should be proportional to the drink made, one time I gave a guy 4 bottles of Dom P in a row without a tip, when he came up for the 5th I told him to go f*@k himself because if he was too cheap to tip then I was too busy to serve him (ended up leaving knuckle marks in the cooler too)

No problem, always willing to help

I used to serve a lot of Europeans when bartending in NYC (Bryant Park Grill for those that are curious), and I knew they were unaccustomed to tipping the bartender so we cut them a little slack. However, keep in mind stateside bartenders work pretty much for ONLY tips (hourly it's about $2 wages) so tipping is ALWAYS appreciated.

Anything to help, besides it a good tip might just get you the attention of the hot little bartender you might have an eye on.

Yeah, that might be a little problem. Of course wages for servers in Vegas are better too, they are union so they actually get paid fairly well. I remember my Honeymoon (more than 4 years ago now, geez) good luck with everything.

Yeah Vegas practically lives off tips... I usually tip $1-$2 a drink. 15%-30% on food, and just overall exceptional service always deserve some gratuity . Taxi drivers appreciate tips, a few bucks is courteous.
