Duran Duran was probably my favorite pop band of the 80s...arguably THE BEST band of that decade.

Around '85 though I started listening to New Wave. It was a relatively new type of music mostly listened to by Vietnamese/Chinese and all the artists were from Europe. One of the most popular group was Modern Talking. Some other favorites include CC Catch, Bad Boys Blue and Joy.

Oh damn! Can't believe I found this song on Lyrics.com.

The first hit from Modern Talking that got me into that music and that way of life:

"You're My Heart, You're My Soul"

Verrrry cheesy! That's the first time I've ever seen that video. They never played any of that music here in the states and you can only go to special record stores to get them. That group was a big hit in Germany. Talk about memories.....

1987, I was 20 and about to migrate to the great U.S. of A. .....what songs are in your life's soundtrack?
Count me in as a fellow DM fan, MP. Been a fan since 1981, seen them live and I've got every single track they've ever released.

In fact, I probably shouldn't admit this, but I've got a crazy amount of 80's music in my iTunes library.

Personally, I love 80's music and I believe that the 80's music as a whole did more (than any other decade) to influence the way up music is made today.
That song brings me back...way back...

There aren't too many 'pop' songs from the '80's that I wouldn't know.
