That would be wasted in the UK then, the signals are so compressed its pointless having a HD television anyways, unless your prepared to pay extra for Sky's so called HD service, which incidently is still heavily compressed and still doesnt exploit the tv to its best if you have 1080p !!!!!!!!

Wanted a 1080p unit but at the time but couldn't wait so got a Sony KDS-R50XBR1. Phenomenal picture, when the optical block and lamp are good (bleh).

I have been turned onto blu-ray as of late so a new tv to fully exploit the player just might be in order =)

2 Panasonic plasmas, one 58 and one 42. Also an older 40" Sony HD CRT. Man, that one is big and heavy.

Pioneer PDP506 50" display. A few years old now but still a great picture.

I'd heard about professional calibration being needed to get the best, but never had it done... Maybe I should, and then it would be like getting a new TV...

it really is a night a day difference when it is done correctly. Just make sure whoever does it is ISF certified.
