Lawyer at a major US and international law firm. I specialize in commercial and insurance coverage litigation. Most often, I represent insurance companies in insurance coverage lawsuits brought by large companies represented by other large law firms. On the downside, I have no legal skills or experience in anything that a normal person would ever need (such as wills, trusts, divorce, real estate, criminal law, etc).
In the last 2 years, I've gotten lawsuits by Universal Music Group and Sun Healthcare Group thrown out, the later was a $100 million that we defeated in a two month trial in January and February in Los Angeles. I consider myself very lucky to still be employed at busy. Many of my friends have lost their jobs.
My work is a means to an end. If money were no object, I'd become a judge or (gasp) run for office. But neither is going to happen.
But I think about BMWs all day -- especially when, as now, I am in a lull between major trials.
