I had to go to Munich today and had a few hours to kill between two meetings (and my car was mostly clean) so I took a few pics in and around the BMW Welt and BMW M HQ.

Stopped for a photo op or two just before I got there.

Getting closer

If you're having trouble finding BMW Welt, head for this tower, it's right by it. Bunch of new Bimmers on their way to making someone happy.

What a fantastic building it is. More futuristic than Mercedes' new Museum.

The (old) museum:

Personally I found it a bit disappointing inside BMW Welt. It was just like a bigger than average BMW dealership with the odd exhibit or two and a few places to eat.

Took a couple of pics outside BMW M HQ just around the corner.

Of all the tracks to be listening to in Munich

Awesome! I bet once inside it's like the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory version for us BMW enthusiasts ...

You'd think so wouldn't you. I think if you don't eat anything in any of the restaurants, or have a car being delivered, you'd be hard pressed to find more than 15 minutes of enthusiast entertainment. There's about 15 cars (same as an above average sized dealership) and a few tech exhibits. The museum across the road was far more interesting last time I went (about 6 years ago).

Sad to say that Mercedes' new museum is more impressive inside than BMW Welt.
