Thanks everyone... John, I was looking at a few tags in the carerra line. They were having some great sales at helzburg jewelers, Quite a few pieces in the mid 2Ks. I ultimately decided on the movado because of the uniqueness of the tungsten. I also liked the idea of a Top of the line movado (with the exception of the automatics) rather then an lower end Tag, but ultimately it was the tungsten that sold me.

I would love to get this watch. there is someone on craigslist selling it used for $1800:

thats a BEAUTIFUL piece. I love how it looks. The design, the simplicity, etc. Mebbe instead of buying coilovers and BBK for my car, I should go buy a Franck Muller Crazy Hours. That watch is freakin amazing. Maybe I can't tell time well with it but it's DAMN worth it. Such a unique watch.

That's the TAG Heuer Grand Carrera Calibre 17 Automatic RS. It retails for $5700, but most retailers will knock off 20% to get it to about $4900-$5000 with tax. If it's on CL for $1800, it's severely damaged, fake, or stolen.

For ~$3K you can buy a TAG Heuer Carrera Calibre 16 Automatic chronograph.

Congrats Craig. Just like Kerry, my first adult watch was also a Movado (gold plated with a black face).

My current watch is a steel and 18K gold Cartier Santos. That watch is great for me because my wrist is small.

If money was no object, I'd have a solid gold Rolex Daytona with a black face. I need a few more of my own clients to afford that.

That's plenty tempting but if I get another watch besides my Cartier Santos, it will be a Rolex Daytona.

if I had the money I'd get an omega moon watch or their James bond watch. I also like they're Michael phelps watch w/ the black face and orange hands... I'm stuck on omega right now
My first adult watch is an Omega Seamaster, I love it, it seems like it is built to take a bullet! Very strong and sturdy. The orange one that you are describing is beautiful, I like it a lot, and matches my school's colors perfectly! I remember looking at it a couple years ago, and it seemed a lot smaller than I had initially thought it was.

Looks like my watch collection bears no resemblance to anyone's here. I've liked them over the years though.

My current favourite two (a Boccia and a Charles Fabien):

These gold ones are from the early 90s and were bling at the time but I'd be ashamed to wear them now. The second one is Raymond Weil and the third is an automatic from Solvil et Titus.

Some Frank Gehry mistake purchases. I thought they looked nice but I never wore either of them ever:

Some chunky Fossils. The second one has animated stick men when it has a battery in it:

My super slim collection. The first one, the fossil F2 has been my all-time favourite watch but it's dead. I've been on a quest to buy a replacement but they stopped making them years ago. If anyone knows anywhere I can buy no longer in production watches I'd appreciate the tip. I've kept an eye out on ebay but no joy.

My novelty collection, BMW M, Mercedes and one with moving dice inside:

The only sport watch I own (from Adidas) but don't wear anymore either:
