Two tickets in one day

If workers present, then the fine would have been double. The cost for me to plead deferred adjudication on one will be the $180 fine plus $70 court costs and the judge will give me 90 days probation. The cost to do defensive driving will be $105 court costs plus $35 for the course. Reasonably inexpensive for my day of stupidity. I have had two speeding tickets in my 51 years, then two in one day. One court gives $180 days probation, so that is the court that I will do defensive driving for. Texas Law states a minimum of 90 and a max of 180 days probation then nothing goes on the record. Oh, well.

Last observation - IMHO, in the US, large gas guzzling SUV's have far too much immunity from speeding violations.
But that's another forum!

So what punishment does Gov Cortizone deserve for this 90MPH + crash without a seatbelt in a state owned SUV?
His excuse was a lame one and seems that an undiagnosed head injury is causing him to do more dumb things in State Gov't. [State is in financial crisis ... so he proposes to hike tolls 200%-800% over the next 3+ years and increase Executive (Judicial) salaries by an average of 17%]
We all might be better off moving to the Carolinas ... got some extra room at your place? Or should we all head further south?

What about points and surcharges?
none for either meeting my 90 day probation requirements for ticket 1 or ticket 2 which will be cleared by defensive driving. I have come to the conclusion that the courts are just greedy for extra money.

2 tickets in a single day indeed sucks!! To start my new year off, on 1st day of 08 i got bagged doing 88 on a 35.. Of course i sent the ticket back NOT guilty. waiting for day in court and I'm looking for excuses for the judge, anyone? the cop didnt say nor i asked him what he used(radar/laser) to clock me. Ticket was in WestSide Hwy in NYC.

I have heard of people being tossed in jail for that differential (53 mph over the limit). I bet the officer was not too pleasant! How did that go?
