My Ride: 2008 Porsche 911 Carrera S Convertible. Midnight Blue, 6 Speed.Retired - 2007 997 Carrera S, Midnight Blue, Grey leather, premium audioRetired - 2007 550i, Monaco Blue over Beige, Navigation, Logic 7, Cold Weather Pack, Comfort Access, Sport Package

The 535d did the lap in 1min 31.8secs. So if the 545i was 3 seconds faster it would be only 0.8 of sec slower than an M3 CSL which did it in 1min 28secs I don't think so

Merv, I don't think the lap vs the 545 was the lap that was timed (as there would have been a time for the 545 as well). I guess the 535 time was taken on a different lap. The track wasn't in great condition when the 535 faced the 545 so neither car will have perfomed at its best on that lap. It also isn't that long a lap, and it's from a standing start so the difference between the two cars under those conditions is probably plausible.

The Stig did his official timed lap in the 535d at the end of the show. You may recall all the smoke from the tyres!

Top Gear is broadcast in the states, but we usually get 6 months+ old episodes, so it's either watch it on the web, or wait to watch it on my 60" TV. Sometimes I do both!
[/quote]Is it broadcast on the Speed Channel, BBC, or somewhere else.? What day/time? Darn, I can't watch it on but a 55." Well, OK, I can be lazy and watch it in the bedroom on the plasma--as I recall a 36."

I think the current season has finished New season starts in Jan (I think) . Also, if you have Speed Channel take a look at 5th Gear, another UK show. Some of the presenters started life on TG (Tiff and Vicki) and it's also an excellent show, well worth setting the Tivo to catch it.
I just asked the same question - looks like it's on the Discovery channel.

Top Gear was on Discovery Channel last year. The season ended a few months ago, and started a month or so ago in the UK, but the US episodes are delayed by many months.
