Wait and see what the cost of the bail notice they send you in the mail. If it's less than $100 bucks, keep the tint and pay the fine. Otherwise you'll have to pull or have someone else remove the tint, clean all the adhesive off the windows, show your car to the police agency that pulled you over, pay the $25 sign off fee then pay to have your windows tinted again.

I got a ticket in my Vette for no front license plate and not having the Vette on my proof of insurance card - even though my policy doesn't expire until August of this year. I figured I'd just pay the bail notice for the license plate and show them my updated insurance card and be done with it, but when I got my bail notice it was $850! I had to pay $25 for the plate to be written off and then I had to go to the court building and show them my proof of insurance and pay $75 in "administrative fees".

I'm glad that I had my windows down - because those are tinted also.

Same thing happened to me in San Luis Obispo a few years back when I had the M3.

Cop claimed I cut him off, while i was making an unprotected left and he was make a right on to the same street (complete bs! he was a good 50 yards from the turn). Anyways... he decided to give me the tint ticket (again, thank god he didn't ask about the exhaust, or to see under the hood).

Took the tint off myself, took the car to the CHP station that pulled me over, paid 25$ and went on with life. Not a big deal.
But like a lot of the guys have said, go get quotes from tint shops in your area and ask them to take it off, so you get it signed off, then have it put back on. It's probably you best option.

Yeah, just pulled over for the tint. I saw the cop before he made the right turn and made sure I wasn't speeding.

1. Ignore the ticket and complain.
2. Pay the ticket and complain.
3. Complain.
4. Be a man, and quit your _itchin.

You elected to do the tint. You knew or should have known that is would not past muster.
5. You got caught.
6. Who do you think should pay for this?

Very simple situation. No brain surgeon needed for this one.
Nobody's complaining about anything. I understand that this is the risk that I ran when I had the tint installed, and now that I got caught, I'm trying to figure out my options. Thanks for your help

We can send a man to the moon.
We can operate succesfully on the human brain.

But we can't invent a polorizing widow tint that would be legal?

Hum, surprised that no one has mentioned this yet...

Just get a cop friend to sign off on it?

I was pulled over once more than a year ago, and the cop really had nothing on me... so ended up giving me tint tix for the front. That ticked me off quite a bit, lol. So just had a cop friend sign it off. No tint removal, no fine, ticket gone.

Yeah that's correct any fix it ticket can get written off.. Having friends who are cops can be pretty beneficial....
