Sounds risky to me, at least hear in CA.

Although you might get away with it for a bit, WHEN the DMV catches up with you... like in 2-3 years when you go to renew your plate, you get a notice for an unpaid fine. And with the bogus late fees and other penalties that we here in CA often have to incur; sounds expensive!

Less expensive to fix it and get it signed off timely.

ahhh that sucks...
I got away with a fix ticket once before.

I've got a fix tint ticket a week after I moved to AZ on I10.
At that time, I had MD tag and driver's license.

What I found out is that in AZ, vehicle registration fee is depends on the car's price. In MD, it was like $90 for two years compare to
about $1300 per year(back in 2006) and reduced about 16% each year. So I kept my MD tag till Feb 2008. And when I finally
changed my tag and license, they were no indication about the fix ticket issue I received in Feb 2006.
It's been more than 3 years now and I BELIEVE I got away with this due to out of state status plus changed my driver's lincense thereafter.

This method is not proven but according to my friend, when you receive a fix ticket, you could get away with apply for a personalized plate/change your license plate number. What my friend said(works at DMV) is that fix ticket is againt the car not the driver, so the worst case is suspended plate. And you can get away with
apply for a new plate(before you get a notice of suspension of plate). Such a small fix ticket is cleared when you give up the current plate and won't transfer to new plate.
THIS IS NOT been PROVEN, JUST HEARD FROM MY FRIEND.

I'm considering having all my windows painted in matte black. It looks f*cking bada$$, otherwise, why bother?

I just got pulled over for tint on my front windows (35%). Has anyone else gotten ticketed in Santa Clara County for this? Do I have the option of just paying a fine without having to go through the trouble of removing the tint, getting the ticket signed off and then having the tint reapplied?

I got pulled over in Sunnyvale for anyone who was curious.

I guess this is the risk we run having our front windows tinted in CA

1. Ignore the ticket and complain.
2. Pay the ticket and complain.
3. Complain.
4. Be a man, and quit your _itchin.

You elected to do the tint. You knew or should have known that is would not past muster.
5. You got caught.
6. Who do you think should pay for this?

Very simple situation. No brain surgeon needed for this one.

find a car with the same color, swap the plate, take a picture, then fight it.

You don't stand a chance if a highway cop stops you in NY. It's like the apps store for the i-phone: You got tints we have an app for that too. lololo
not just in NY. i remembered when the evo viii first came out, cops were giving tickets for the wing in the back. They said it was too big and it's a stock wing!!! also tried giving tickets for the stock exhaust. LOL

Who's complaining? He's just asking what his options are.

A few years ago when i was taking care of a fix it ticket for my exhaust, the woman in front of me was telling me how she got a fix it ticket in her friends car for a cracked windshield. Her friend sold the car and she had to pay an $800 fine forn not fixing it.
WOW really? I guess some states are different. I don't see how she has to pay something that's not owned by her.
That's why repair order is against the car and you are just happen to be the driver of the car at that moment.
