I can attest that it's helped me in the past.... Also, it can be "hardwired" into your E60 with only 10 mins of effort. Just do a search for Valentine and you'll find the DIY.

I've got a radar detector but with laser guns, it' useless. Laser jammers are illegal here
so there's not much you can do if you get 'marked'....
