My Ride: 2008 550I LOADED, all options except HUD and NV
I had a 99 JGC before the SRT8 and it was great, terrific in the winter with the 4 wheel low setting going up a steep hill in 31" of snow was a breeze. However, make sure you get the tranny checked before you buy, my torque converter came apart at 79k miles and it was $5k to rebuild the tranny. The I6 in those old Cherokees is bulleproof, basically the same I6 they made for nearly 50 years. Just don't get the V6 of the newer models or the V8's - they are terrible engines.
The added pluses of the leather seats being very comfy, good amount of room even in the rear seat and that 4WD system makes all the difference. Only weak point in the I6 is the tranny, transfer cases are solid and engine is great and a torque monster for it's size.
