In general, I find the roads in the St. Louis area to be rather good. Yes, there has been a LOT of construction the past few years, but it is mandatory for progress, and when they finish something, it has proven to be an improvement.

The interstate highways are another story. Just look at a map and see how many major East/West highways converge at St. Louis. All that heavy truck traffic really takes a toll.

It's better than Costa Rica, where we used to give directions based on the number of huge holes you would pass. We don't get as many mudslides here either.

Personally I think Obama will fix all the roads. He will do everything for us. We'll have no needs. In the morning I am driving down to our government offices to see what the government can do for me...

Growing up in CT I remember noticing the difference in roads when I crossed from Fairfield County into Westchester County - the roads were always worse on the NY side. Unfortunately it's not just NYC. The entire state of NY has neglected infrastructure for decades. It's not something that will be solved in two terms and I don't think anyone in the state has the will power to do what is needed. But you can do what VA does, just ticket the hell out of drivers to help fund the state

I drive every weekend from Queens to Staten Island throught the BQE and you can imagine the crap I deal with... I slow down super slow on some bumps.

Unemployment office? j/k
I'm sure most poeple believe Obama can also fix the health care and give peace to the Middle East... I don't have anything against Obama, but yo, nobody's gonna fix sh!t until we - THE PEOPLE - start taking initiative!!!

i think it's because we have a motto of quantity>quality. the roads here are constantly in need of being redone, and they do it quickly

Agreed, NYC is a great city. The unions are what screw it up, hate them, and nearly 7 years at Bell Atlantic/Verizon as a manager didn't help.
